The Land of Fairytales Storyline is based on the book The Princess and the Pizza by Mary Jane and Herm Auch. In character, as a medieval storyteller, the teacher leads the Storyline while the students join in as village children. The Storyteller and the children experience life in a medieval village as the non-traditional fairytale of a young princess unfolds.

Additional fairytales (traditional, non-traditional, multicultural) enter the Storyline as incidents occur. The village children share their ideas, and propose solutions. The twists and turns of the progressing story allow for repeated practice of all ten ELP standards.

In the end the storyteller and the village children support the independent princess when she walks away from a royal marriage and opens her own pizza parlor.

This Storyline can be used for kindergarten through second grade.
